When I was a raw vegan I used to eat this every night after work. Before turning vegan I loved ice cream. Today the Banana “Nice Cream” doesn’t hinder weight loss at all. In fact, it keeps me on track when I’m craving something cold and delicious.
Truly between having this “nice cream” and the date balls I really never feel led to cheat and eat some processed junk food. These two recipes help me to be satisfied with the lifestyle choice I live by today.
I made date balls yesterday and today I thought I would top my banana “nice” cream with a sprinkle of hemp seeds, walnuts, and cinnamon. I placed Brazil nuts for my daily dose of selenium and two small date balls on top for presentation.
I made a pretty big batch today and what I couldn’t eat I put in a storage container and took it to work with me. I”m actually sitting here eating my seconds while typing this up at work.
I like mine the texture of soft serve ice cream and when I push it through my Omega 8600 it just doesn’t have the right texture. I have learned to put it in the food processor and then I add other ingredients for added taste and texture.
Today for a big batch I pushed 6 banana’s through the Omega Juicer with the blank.
I then tossed that into the food processor.
I then added
a tablespoon of raw honey mostly for the health benefits as I’m fighting to not get a cold. (Honey isn’t exactly vegan so let us just say I’m plant based and no one gets hurt. It is too healthy for me to give up)
I added two tablespoons of Trader Joe’s Peanut Butter with no added ingredients just straight up peanuts.
I added 2 tablespoons of Cacao Powder
I turned on the food processor and as it was running I added a dash of unsweetened Almond Milk until it was the texture of soft serve ice cream.
Put some in a bowl and sprinkle with delicious healthy toppings.
Today I used cinnamon, hemp seeds, baking walnuts from Trader Joe’s and two date balls and two Brazil Nuts.
You can freeze what you can’t eat and its good for a short time in the freezer. I wouldn’t let it stay in there for too many days or you may lose the good texture.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Really this recipe is just a basis for you to follow. Just add whatever and how much of ingredients you like. You just can’t go wrong. Sometimes I’ll toss in a whole container of Kite Hill Almond Yogurt (leaving out the other ingredients) instead of almond milk for a great texture, as well for added protein.
Play with it and have fun.
If you don’t have an Omega Juicer a powerful blender will work just fine.
***Update: June 2018 I don’t push it through the omega anymore it just all gets tossed in the food processor.
